Helalia Johannes wins Commonwealth Gold in the Marathon

Helalia Johannes became the first Namibian women to win a Commonwealth Gold Medal in athletics – marathon when she emerged victor in the women marathon on the 15th April 2018 in Gold Coach, Australia. She won in a time of 2:32:40. Athletics Namibia congratulates her and the team to the Commonwealth Games.

The 2018 Namibia National Track & Field Championship slated for the 20 and 21 April 2018

The Namibian National Track & Field Championships will take place on the 20 and 21 April at the Independence Stadium, Olympia,  Windhoek. Athletes from all the regions of Namibia will contest to be crowned national champions in the various events in track and field. Jolene Jacobs to represent Namibia at the World Indoor Championship in Birmingham

Jolene Jacobs will be the sole representative for Namibia at the 2018 World Indoor Championships. She will take part in the 60m meters.  Her selection follows her good times at indoor meets in Europe earlier in the month. She broke the Namibian National Indoor Record in the 60 meter of 7.50 seconds improving the 7.64 seconds set by Globine Mayova in 2012.  Athletics Namibia wishes her all the best at the Championships.

Athletes warmed up Otjiwarongo at the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge third leg

It was action galore at the third leg of the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge at Otjiwarongo on Saturday 24 February 2018 at the Pareisis Park. As expected the event did not disappoint with new emerging talent being unearthed.
