N$50 000 up for grabs over the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge Serie

The Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge Serie will start this weekend, with its first leg at Otjiwarongo on Saturday 23 February 2019. Athletes can claim a share of the grand prize of N$50 000, if they achieve performances that rank in the top 10 at the end of the serie, with performances that achieve at least a minimum of 1000 score on the IAAF Scoring Table, in any event. Thomas Shighwedha and Tangi Mulundu crowned 2019 men and women National Cross Country Champions

Thomas Shighwedha of the NAMPOL Athletics Club and Tangi Malundu of the UNAM Athletics Club both from the Khomas Region, were crowned Snr men and Snr women 2019 National Cross Country Champions, respectively. Thomas was pushed throughout the race by Kefas Kondjashili exchanging the lead at various intervals. Jeremia Shaliaxue was third. Athletics Namibia vice president Johannes Shekutamba Mathew has died

It is with sadness that we learned of the passing of a dedicated cadre of the Athletics Namibia family, Mr Johannes Shekutamba Mathew, at the Oshakati State Hospital on the 24 January 2019.  Mr Mathew was vice president of Athletics Namibia, member the executive board and council of Athletics Namibia until his untimely death.
